Tom is a Partner, who leads our Corporate & Private Equity team. 

Tom is a mergers and acquisitions lawyer, specialising in private equity and venture capital, acting for private equity houses and management teams, as well as investee companies. He advises on equity investment, the acquisition and sale of companies and businesses, and refinancing transactions, and has taken on numerous management advisory roles on private equity-backed deals.

Tom acts for a number of private equity houses and is lead partner for WestBridge Capital, who he has advised on 18 management buy outs and several substantial exits.

Tom is identified in the 2024 edition of Chambers, “Tom has great negotiation skills, naturally knowing exactly what to argue and what not to argue” and identified in The Legal 500 as being “solutions-orientated”.

Global SAP Consultancy firm Acuiti Labs on its investment from Quilvest Capital Partners.

RJD Partners
On its investments in Survey Solutions and Improve International.

WestBridge
Advising the private equity house on 18 of its investments and all exits from its 1st, 2nd and 3rd funds including its:

  • multi-million-pound management buy-outs of Tryzens and Techex.
  • £17m investment in Smart Capital Technology.
  • £9.8m investment as part of a management buy-out of APEM.
  • management buy-out of Eque2, as part of a £46.5m deal.
  • sale of AJM Healthcare via a secondary buy-out to Livingbridge.
  • sale of bChannels to The Channel Company, backed by US Eagle Tree Capital.

Multiple PE-backed businesses
A number of PE backed businesses on multiple bolt-on acquisitions including:

  • WestBridge backed APEM (Europe’s leading independent environmental consultancy business)
  • MML backed Veezu (UK’s fastest growing taxi and private hire technology platform with 15,000+ active driver-partners)
  • Livingbridge backed AJM Healthcare (a supplier of mobility support products to the NHS).
