Mary is a Principal Associate in our Employment and Immigration team. She advises employers and employees on all aspects of employment law.

Mary mainly acts for employers, but also advises unions and employees in senior positions. Her clients’ main sectors include pharmaceutical, retail, utilities, manufacturing and gaming.

Mary is a qualified trainer and regularly provides training on employment law issues (including GDPR/ Data Protection Act 2018, conducting investigations, and dealing with absences) to a wide range of audiences including local authorities, higher education establishments and NDPBs.

Advising a number of clients on the employer obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Freedom of Information Act.

TUPE
Advising Remploy on the potential application of TUPE specifically the service provision change (SPC) provisions set out in regulation 3(1)(b), to the cessation/winding down of the Work Choice and Work Programme schemes (together the Existing Programmes) and the introduction of the Work and Health Programme (WHP).

NDPB
Advising NDPB and educational establishments on pensions, admitted body status provisions and a requirement for them to be a guarantor.

£200k claim
Defending a claim valued at £200k for unlawful deduction from wages, unfair dismissal under TUPE, breach of contract, and whistleblowing.

s189 TULRCA 1992
Defending a claim under s189 TULRCA 1992 brought by 1600 claimants against an NDPB and valued at £6million claim, working with a leading QC.
