In late 2018, Jenny pitched Jenny Kate to the Inspire Wales Investment Committee—who agreed to fund her, as did investors through Angels Invest Wales, to the tune of £350,000.
Capital Law acted for both the investors and Jenny Kate in the investment, with different teams on separate sides of an information barrier.
Cath Golledge, Corporate Solicitor, acting for the company, said:
It’s been a pleasure working with Jenny on this round. The combination of the funding, and the expertise in the syndicate, will be invaluable as the business grows.
Jenny Evans, CEO of Jenny Kate, said:
Working with Capital was wonderful. They were quick, helpful and professional. They went above and beyond, so that we could complete quickly. Thank you so much!
Laura Spendiff, Corporate Associate, acting for the investors, said:
This was a fantastic project to be involved in—Jenny is very talented, and it’s great to see support and backing given to young, female entrepreneurs in the creative sector. I’m very much looking forward to watching the next steps for JK, as supported by the Angel Co-Fund.
Ashley Cooper, Lead Angel investor, said:
Working with Capital Law was once again a pleasure. We gave them a really aggressive timescale for closure pre year end, and the transaction was concluded within a week of formal instruction. Super-efficient and professional as ever.
This funding round is the third Angel Invest Wales investment that Capital has advised on, of the four transactions concluded by the Fund.
