WestBridge, which held a final close of its second fund at £140m earlier this year, first invested in Linkfresh – which is a global leading provider of enterprise resource planning software to the fresh produce sector – in December 2012.
Capital Law advised on the sale, which marks the fourth exit from WestBridge’s first fund, WestBridge I.
Guy Davies and James Macleay were the team from WestBridge. Tom Kelleher led for Capital with Angelina Drljaca-Chandler, Elizabeth Cotton and Ellie Shanahan supporting from Capital’s Corporate team.
Guy Davies, Founding Partner, WestBridge, said:
“Following an unsolicited approach to acquire Linkfresh. the Capital Law team, as ever, quickly stepped up to support us with this transaction with a US based acquire. Their pragmatic and commercial approach ensured that the transaction progressed smoothly despite the challenges posed by the principals being based on both sides of the Atlantic. Furthermore, they integrated seamlessly with our other advisors.”
Tom Kelleher, Partner at Capital Law, said:
“This is the fourth exit where we have advised WestBridge. We also advised them during the period of their investment in Linkfresh, and as they have built and grown the business. Aptean’s international reach will help Linkfresh consolidate its enviable market position, reach new international markets, as well as grow its portfolio of clients in the fresh produce sector. This is the 13th transaction where we have advised WestBridge in the last 10 years, and we look forward to many more.”
