The announcement follows Getsafe’s successful Series A round in June 2019, which raised €15m to support continued growth, and the expansion of its offering in Europe.
The Capital Law team advised on regulatory, corporate and insurance aspects of the launch – which will see Getsafe deliver its first product, a home contents insurance offering underwritten by Hiscox, to British consumers. No doubt additional lines of insurance will follow in the future.
Oliver Woodhouse, a Solicitor in Capital’s Financial Services team, said:
“It’s been a real pleasure to help Getsafe launch in the UK, and we look forward to collaborating again in future. The whole Getsafe proposition – bringing multiple lines of insurance to UK consumers in a modern, digital way – is precisely why we enjoy working in the InsurTech space”.
Daniel Treiber, CFO of Getsafe, said:
“We are grateful for Capital Law’s support on this significant step for our company. The team’s experience in the sector and professionalism proved to be a major success factor in meeting our challenging timeline”.
