Advising Victorian Sliders on its £14m investment from BGF
Carmarthenshire-based sash windows firm Victorian Sliders has secured a £14m investment from BGF (formerly known as the Business Growth Fund) to support its ambitious growth plans.
Melanie Williams and Catherine James, from Capital Law’s corporate team, advised Victorian Sliders on the deal. This is BGF’s largest ever equity investment into a Welsh business.
Victorian Sliders was established in 2005, and is the UK’s only fully integrated, specialist, manufacturer of uPVC sash windows. Led by founder and chief executive Scot Starkey, Victorian Sliders employs more than 300 people and manufactures over 2,000 windows per week from its factory in Ammanford.
BGF’s funding will allow the firm to double production capacity, and to develop further its recycling plant.
Scot Starkey, CEO at Victorian Sliders, said:
“This is an exciting and pivotal moment for Victorian Sliders. We’re delighted to have the support of BGF – whose commitment to our plans has been terrific. The whole process was quick and efficient; for which much credit and thanks must go to the BGF team, as well as to our advisers at Lexington Corporate Finance and Capital Law.”
Melanie Williams, Associate at Capital Law, said:
“Scot and his team at Victorian Sliders have built a world-class business, in Wales, from the ground up. It’s been a real pleasure to work alongside them in recent years, and in particular to have helped with this BGF investment. Now the Capital team very much look forward to supporting their future growth.”
