Buchanan Computing sells to construction technology provider Causeway Technologies

Buchanan Computing, the leading provider of permanent traffic engineering and highways management solutions, has been acquired by construction technology provider Causeway Technologies. This milestone represents a significant step forward for Buchanan, with additional resources and market reach they can deliver stronger innovative traffic management solutions.

Buchanan has many synergies with Causeway and has been working on joint projects and technical integrations of systems for many years. As the UK’s leading provider of software solutions for construction, maintenance and traffic management organisations, Causeway is a great fit for Buchanan Computing with complementary product portfolios and many customers in common.

Our Corporate and Private Equity team, led by Tom Kelleher and supported by Cerith Bevan, Emma King and Elis Phillips, advised Buchanan Computing’s shareholders on the sale. Supported by other specialists across the firm including our Commercial, Real Estate and Employment teams who advised on matters arising from the diligence process and transaction documents.

Tom Kelleher, Partner in the Corporate and Private Equity team at Capital Law, said:

It was a genuine pleasure to work with Alex, Simon, Miriam, Nicole and James Harris (in his capacity as advisor) on this transaction. They have built the business into a leader in cloud services for transport planners. Having now joined forces with Causeway Technologies, I am confident they will continue on their impressive journey and wish them all the best.

Alex Smith and Simon Morgan of Buchanan Computing said:

We found the whole Capital Law team to be extremely professional and responsive throughout the process. They patiently explained aspects that we were less familiar with and mobilised additional resources and different skill sets when required. We would highly recommend Capital Law to any company wishing to embark upon a similar acquisition.
