Our Commercial Property team is expanding its social housing service. We’re looking for an experienced paralegal to join the team, ideally with immediate availability. Our work includes providing a variety of transaction-handling and advisory services to clients operating in a range of sectors.

Working within the Real Estate team

The Property team’s core work comes from an excellent reputation with major developers and occupiers, energy projects, and in the education and public sectors. We aim to be one of the leading property departments in Wales ranked tier 1 by the Legal 500 and Chambers. Our growth will primarily come from existing clients, as we identify what more we can do to help them develop. There will also be a targeted marketing campaign to help identify and attract new clients. We know that clients in the construction or energy sectors often need property advice too. We will build on this experience by targeting companies in the sector, working closely with the construction, energy & projects team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • assisting partners and associates and delivering the objectives agreed with you by the supervising partner
  • managing client files in compliance with the Firm’s rules as specified in the Quality and Practice Manuals (such as Money Laundering, File opening and Rule 2 letters)
  • complying fully with the Firm’s core values
  • ensuring compliance (with the assistance of the Firm) with the Law Society CPD requirements
  • drafting and negotiating legal documentation including contracts, transfers, leases, licences, land registry forms
  • analysing and interpreting legal documentation in order to provide advice to clients
  • managing the day to day running of a number of matters including coordinating documentation, liaising with external companies and clients, updating the internal cross-department lawyers
  • assisting colleagues with more complex matters
  • attending meetings and telephone conferences and preparing follow-up action points and attendance notes
  • performing legal research
  • drafting correspondence and liaising with clients and third parties by telephone
  • updating matter files
  • assisting with preparing precedent documents
  • researching and writing topical articles and blogs for marketing purposes
