Sports

For us, sporting success is as much about good coaching, sound preparation and intelligent strategy as it is about medals, trophies and beating the competition.

The business of winning.

Our aim with the sporting clubs, professional sportsmen and women, international athletes and governing bodies we work with is to support you through the complex issues that can affect sporting success.

We advise and guide a range of prestigious sports clubs on high-profile cases, which has earned us international renown in the sector – particularly in rugby, football, golf and cricket.

Our technical expertise covers contentious and non-contentious cases. We’re legal advisors to Cardiff City FC, Pontypool Rugby, Glamorgan Cricket Club and Wales’s regional rugby teams. We’re appointed to the UK Anti-Doping and the Gambling Commission legal panels, and we have links to UK and international governing bodies.

Cardiff City Women turn semi-pro

Our partnership with CCFC is long established.

Our Employment and Immigration team first started working with CCFC over 10 years ago, in 2012. We have provided advice on a whole host of matters, those involving players and coaches as well as wider CCFC staff. Throughout our long-term partnership with CCFC, we have worked closely with Dawn Williamson, Head of Human Resources & Payroll at the Club as well as other key senior managers.

Since working on the CCFCW contracts, we have continued to work with the Club, most recently assisting Sarah Nightingale (Player Care Manager at CCFC) with preparing documentation for Academy players that are hosted by local families.

Discover how our Sports team and Employment experts assisted Cardiff City FC in becoming Wales’ first full women’s squad to sign semi-professional contracts.

  • I recently completed a NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety with Capital People, and I couldn’t be more impressed. The tutors were knowledgeable and engaging, the materials were comprehensive and well organised, and the overall learning experience was excellent. I particularly appreciated how accessible tutors were to answer questions in and out of training days. I would like to thank Mark in particular for providing the support I needed to achieve this qualification. I now feel more confident and equipped in my role. I would highly recommend Capital People as a trainer to others looking to complete similar qualifications.
